To visit Kompong Pluk is to step into another world; this remote village is home to the fabled bamboo skyscrapers and fascinating people. Its exploration is part of our journey on the mighty Tonle Sap lake, which was registered as a Unesco Biosphere Reserve in 1997. The area is home to many Cham communities living a "floating life" on the lake. The World Heritage Road is a glorious route through Central Vietnam. It is so-called because the route encompasses no less than three UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites: the sixteenth century silk route trading port of Hoi An, the sacred Cham ruins at My Son Valley, and the ancient imperial city of Hue.
The area is rich in natural history and culture and as such has tremendous long-term potential for tourism development throughout the Indochina region.
An alternative way to explore the Angkor temple complex, we suggest you join us for some leisurely cycling to explore the area on two wheels and ride trails from one temple to another. Through shady jungle, past ancient crumbling ruins, we'll cross wooden bridges and find no shortage of beautiful spots all along the way.

Located in the mountainous north of the country, this former royal capital has been a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site since 1995. Idyllically situated on the Mekong River and surrounded by beautiful green mountains, the town itself is picturesque and offers a wonderful mix of ancient temples and French-Indochinese architecture. Like much of Laos the pace of life in Luang Prabang is relaxed and compliments the visual charm of the town perfectly. Luang Prabang remains the cultural heart of Laos today, yet it simultaneously offers an incredible assortment of things for visitors to see and do. It is simply a must for any first time visitor to the country, and one of our favorite destinations anywhere in Southeast Asia.
